Welcome to the home page of the Bermuda Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). The 'Action Plan' is a blueprint for conservation and is the result of a three year initiative in which people from a wide range of backgrounds have come together to exchange conservation ideas with the common goal of protecting our natural heritage. This 5-year plan provides a framework for focussing resources and addresses the most pressing conservation issues facing Bermuda's biodiversity, by setting out clearly defined, realistic targets, as well as a series of prioritised and practical approaches for achieving these.

This site gives the background to the 'Action Plan', details of the Plan itself, updates on progress, resource materials available, and links to lead agencies. Click on the left hand menus to find out more.

"Studies have shown that people who regularly interact with nature show lower stress levels, are less violent, and heal faster from illness."
"The quality of our lives is entwined with biodiversity so much more deeply than most of us ever realize."

The development of this plan was generously sponsored by the U.K. Government's Darwin Initiative, Fauna and Flora International, the Bermuda Government, the Kenridge Fund, the Ernest E. Stempel Foundation, the Bay Foundation, and the Bermuda Zoological Society. The following people were instrumental in the development of the planning process and production of the resulting 'Action Plan'.
